What is MotS?

It is a fast video with one question answered by many people.

Weekly Schedule:

  • Monday: Claim your topic and film your video.
  • Friday: Upload your first draft and watch it with the class for feedback.
  • Tuesday: Final video is due at the end of class.
  • Thursday: The best two videos air on the news.

8 Steps to Make Your Video:

  1. Write the Question: Choose a question that is not a "yes or no" answer. Test your question on 3 people first.
  2. Get Ready: Work in a team of up to 2 people. One person asks the question, and the other person holds the camera horizontally.
  3. Film: Film 10-12 people, but only keep the best 5-7 answers. Ask people to say and spell their name before answering.
  4. Edit: Make each answer 3-8 seconds long. Save the video as an .mp4 file.
  5. Turn It In: Upload your video to OneDrive and Basecamp.
  6. Fix It: The class will watch it on Friday. Fix any mistakes the class finds.
  7. Final Due: Turn in the finished video on Tuesday by the end of class. It Airs: The anchor will read your lead-in, and your video will play.
